Program Professional Framework
تصميم وإنشاء شبكات الطاقة الكهربائية Electrical Network Automation, Design & Communication Systems
Program Overview
Gulf utilities are modernising distribution and transmission networks with automation, digital substations and integrated communications to improve reliability and absorb new solar and electric vehicle loads. This programme connects network design with automation: load flow and short-circuit studies, protection coordination, SCADA and distribution management systems, substation automation based on IEC 61850, telecontrol protocols such as DNP3 and IEC 60870-5-104, communication media selection and the cybersecurity of operational networks.
Learning Outcomes
- ✓Perform basic load flow and short-circuit calculations to size network equipment and verify voltage limits.

Training Methodology
Applied Project & Assessment
Applied Project
Participants design an automation scheme for an 11kV distribution area: network single-line diagram, protection grading, SCADA and communication architecture, protocol selection, FLISR logic outline and a cybersecurity checklist.
Assessment
Short diagnostic at the start, practical tasks linked to each learning outcome, and evaluation of the applied project against published criteria.
