Program Professional Framework
115KV Cable Splicing Training and Certification
Program Overview
Joints and terminations are among the most failure-prone points in high-voltage underground cable systems, and many failures trace back to workmanship. This hands-on course covers the construction of 115 kV XLPE cables, cable end preparation, semiconductive screen removal, stress control principles, installation of premoulded and cold-shrink joints, outdoor and GIS terminations, metallic sheath bonding and cross-bonding, and after-installation testing in line with the IEC 60840 test philosophy. Safety, cleanliness and documentation are emphasised throughout, reflecting the requirements of transmission utilities and oil and gas power networks in the GCC.

Training Methodology
Applied Project & Assessment
Applied Project
Each participant completes a supervised practice joint or termination on a cable sample, recording every preparation step, dimensional check and quality checkpoint in a jointing record, and prepares a test and handover checklist for a 115 kV circuit.
Assessment
Short diagnostic at the start, practical tasks linked to each learning outcome, and evaluation of the applied project against published criteria.
