Program Professional Framework
ESP Application Engineering
Program Overview
Electrical submersible pumps lift large volumes in many Gulf fields, and their run life depends on correct application engineering long before installation. This course covers the full ESP design and operating cycle: well and reservoir data requirements, inflow performance, total dynamic head and pump stage selection, gas handling with separators and gas handlers, motor, seal and cable selection, variable speed drives and surface equipment, downhole sensors and surveillance, and failure analysis through dismantle inspection. Participants size complete systems for high water cut, gassy and viscous applications and learn how design choices affect run life and energy efficiency.

Training Methodology
Applied Project & Assessment
Applied Project
Participants design a complete ESP system for a provided high water cut Gulf well, including the TDH calculation, pump, motor, seal and cable selection, a gas handling assessment and VSD settings, and propose a surveillance plan to protect run life.
Assessment
Short diagnostic at the start, practical tasks linked to each learning outcome, and evaluation of the applied project against published criteria.
